This mosaic is based on the sculptures running around between the first-floor-windows of the Pyramide court of the Louvre, Paris, including Richeliu-, Sully- and Denon-wings of the building. The hall of fame consists of characters coming mainly from the XVIIth century (poets, writers, philosophers, artists, sculptors, painters, architects, politicians etc.). First I thought I would eliminate the differences between the original photos - later I didn't change them but just cropped and resized - the change of colour & tone reflects appropriately the time I spent with taking them (approx. 15 minutes) and even the symmetry of the U-form space, as well.
