Das Narrenschiff..."Ship of Fools" statue on the Königstrasse.
Albrecht Dürer contributed a major of the woodcuts to Das Narrenschiff (Ship of Fools), the famous work of German law professor/satiric poet Sebastian Brant. In the book, Brant wrote about the misfits and their misdeeds -- drunkards, thieves, spendthrifts, unscrupulous judges, loose women, and monks with low character -- together in a ship sailing for a fool's paradise called Narragonia. The sculpture of The Ship of Fools is a tribute to both the author and the artist.
